Just like this blog, finding one’s “truth” is always evolving. It’s striving for balance and contentment. It’s trusting that inner voice inside your self and trying to do the next right thing. So simple right? Of course not! WE are human. WE mess up. We have super high ups and super low downs. This blog is a reflection of those human moments where we learn valuable lessons and where we can laugh at ourselves. I’m hoping you can laugh along with me as a I share my personal growth, successes, and business experiences all sprinkled with tips on fashion, food, home, and more fun things as I take on this journey called life.
MORE ABOUT ME
I am the owner and lead instructor at the Wayne Dance Company and proud alumni of Wayne State College. I graduated with a B.A. in Communication Studies; emphasis on public relations and organizational leadership. I know this isn’t a resume, but I loved my degree so much, I feel I should state the whole darn thing. Have a couple of glasses of wine with me and I guarantee you’ll find out just how much I love communication.
I am originally from Minnesota and if we are being honest, I still think it’s the greatest place in the universe. People from Minnesota love Minnesota (more on this in some future blog post, I’m sure).
After graduation I moved back up North, and worked in downtown Minneapolis. I grew up thinking that was my dream. I was going to wear a power suit every day and kill it as I walk to my next meeting with a Fortune 500 big wig. Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong. My body left Nebraska, but my heart stayed. Not only was my man there, but there was also an opportunity to teach kids what I had been passionate about my whole life; dance.
I also have always been passionate about clean beauty and body products, so naturally I joined in on the best safer beauty mission I have found, Beautycounter. I am now a manager and continue to share my love and knowledge with individuals who are starting to learn more and more about all the harmful chemicals the FDA does not protect us from. Beautycounter prohibits the use of over 1500 harmful or potentially harmful ingredients and we have an intense screening process. Not only are the products safe for everyone in the family, including babies, they are effective! I’ve never had better skin and our skin is our largest organ-we better take care of it! I’d love to help you start your safer beauty journey!
I live in Omaha with the best man I’ve ever met, my fiance, Kyle. We bought a house & recently got engaged. I can NOT wait to be Taryn Thompson! We have a yellow lab, Ace and he is the center of our world.
There’s much more to my story and through this blog I hope to unravel more of it, not only to anyone who wants to read, but also for myself. I grew up with addiction, fatherly issues, abusive relationships, but also with strong role models, a solid support system, and opportunities people could only dream of.
I learned through my study of communication, that we all have a lens in which we view the world. We all have our own truth. Through all my experiences, trials, and tribulations, my lens was formed. It has morphed, stretched, and collapsed. Through this blog I’m hoping to share my lens with you. I’m hoping some of you can relate to my truth.
